Foundation Types
Two types of foundation and their structure is explained here.
Triangular Type Foundation
In general two types of foundation are in use for the house construction but mainly the triangular shape foundation is more preferable by the people. This you can see in figure one, where after the 3-4 inches of basic mixture of medium size stone, sand and cement the bricks foundation starts. In the first step, three full size bricks one use that is approximately 27 inches, it carries two steps of this dimension. For second step, two rows runs with two and half bricks that is approximately 22 inches. In the third step, similar to the earlier ones, two rows run with two bricks by side in full length of foundation that is ~18 inches.At the fourth step which is known as plinth, one full bricks and second by half side run in full length of the wall approximately ~13 inches of width.
Now, from plinth the main wall rise up and it depends on the constructor what size of wall thickness he has to carry. It may be 13 inches, 9 inches and/or 4.5 inches, single bricks wall.
Second type of foundation
In this foundation one side remain flat while the other progress in descending order to thickness of foundation, as you are looking in this picture in same way as first one.
There is only one point to share which is about its strength as compared to earlier one. Also, this point is valid only when other house construction (i.e. side wall of attach house) is sure along with its side. Obviously, the other house constructor will keep same foundation process so both the side will flat and open side remain as it is. This makes foundation strength double as compared to the first one.
Actually, this idea applicable only where sharing wall is not allowed in house construction.
